Ballard Bunch

Walker has been so excited about his first day of kindergarten. He lost 2 teeth last month, and turned 6 a few weeks ago, and it seemed starting kindergarten was the final piece to his big boy puzzle. There has been nothing but excitement on the subject of kindergarten- no fear or anxiety, and I am so thankful for that!! I wasn't sure if I would get emotional, because we have all been so excited. We were a little behind schedule. Lucy was very sick, with strep and pink eye, over the weekend so she could not go to her first day of Pre-K. I had to drop her off with my mom before taking Walker to school, so we were more rushed than I had hoped to be. He was very excited and sat down- I gave him and hug and off I went!! Yeah, that's right-I'm 6!!! File this under *want to remember* He keeps saying, "I'm all set, mom! I'm 6, I've lost 2 teeth, I'm in kindergarten, I'm playing football" Like he's got some checklist somewhere and he's happy with his progress... Wright family birthday fun BOWLING! Great idea, Peepaw and GG. Bowling was definitely a success! Birthday dinner at BJ's Opening presents, dinner and PAZOOKIES!! Birthday DAY!! Jason and I were both fortunate enough to be able to take the day off, so we could all enjoy it together! A trip to the museum was fun. We saw an Omni movie (Sharks), and they played in a few areas we hadn't ventured to yet. Man, I really love our new museum AND the fact that we are members- makes for a cheap outing! Walker's birthday celebration started a week before his birthday- he is such a Ballard boy, he knows how to drag out a birthday!!! We had birthday dinner with the Ballards, honoring Walker and Aunt D, both August birthdays. Aunt D is carrying my neice...and nephew!!! Twins :) My kiddos are so excited to have "first cousins". The Birthday Buddies Dinosaur fact cards. Walker always wants us to "play" cards with him- he really loves how each card includes a picture of a human, and that dinosaur next to the human to show the size. GI Joe :) Yummy Nana cake- nobody bakes cakes from scratch like Nana, seriously. Paula Deen's got nothing on her. During his birthday week, Caitlin, Walker and I took a little trip to Dallas for some cupcakes. Don't laugh- YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW. Lucy got to choose between cheerleading and ballet for her fall activity, and she chose ballet. She has been asking to do ballet for a year now, and I kept telling her "when you're 5". After W signed up for football, she briefly thought about signing up for cheerleading, but I am glad that she went with ballet because the fine arts school she will be at next year with Walker offers ballet as part of the curriculum, so now she will know the basics. She is really enjoying it- I love her "focused" face during class when she is concentrating on the teacher and trying to mimic her exactly to do the position right. We had a fun little photo session at home after she was all changed into her leotard and everything. At the end of July we celebrated Sydney Jo's (affectionately called Jojo) birthday. But, we had another exciting event going on that day- losing our first teeth!!! First, we met Jojo at Mama's Pizza for her birthday dinner. YUM!! She got some great stuff for college- all purple, of course! Lucy and Caitlin playing with their drinks. We kept wiggling them every day, and just happened to have a dentist appointment about a week after that. He did GREAT at the dentist appointment, we really like this new dentist.
