Ballard Bunch

We had a blast and stayed busy last week. Jason was off most of the week, so we did some "family activities". We avoided the Fort Worth Zoo like the plague (23,000 visitors on half price Wednesday last week!!), but found some other fun stuff to do. We finally went to Dinosaur World, in Glen Rose. It is an outside trail featuring over 100 life- size dinos!! Right up the Ballards alley!! The kids loved the trail, and the fossil dig, and the museum. It was a neat place. It's Spring Break- whoo-hoo! While today has been a lazy morning, we have some fun things planned this week. Finally- something to blog about!!! Today, I was making Amish Friendship Bread... If you haven't heard , I've got some starters to give away. Lucy wanted to help, because the variation we were making today was her idea. She wanted chocolate chip bread. I gave her the bowl and the 3 eggs to crack and put in. No big deal- they do the eggs alot. The first egg, she cracked it and the shell went inside the bowl and the egg went on the counter. Oh, Lucy. Well, I salvaged that one and gave her the second egg. As she picked up the second egg, the third egg rolled off the table and cracked on the floor. I went around to clean it up, and she was very silent. Probably trying to figure out how aggravated I was... I was standing up and she looked at me and said, "I guess I'm not good at eggs." Wow!! My kiddos are just changing and growing so much these days, I have really tried hard these past two weeks to break out the camera more and capture this. I will never remember this stuff later, and if I ever get around to making this into a blog book, I will be so happy I have this. We are working really hard on brushing our teeth. Mommy is working hard on not forgetting and make SURE that we do it twice a day, and the kiddos are working hard on doing it by themselves. They actually like brushing their teeth, it's not hard to get them to do it, it's just one more thing to make sure that we do every morning and night. They still act crazy in the bath, and I still let them- because I love to do the dishes with no distractions. I totally zone out while I am doing the dishes for some reason and my mind just wonders-it's a nice getaway!!! They still love to help me cook. They are slicing and pouring now.
