Sleepover fun

Image
Walker has slept over 3 times at a friends' house from school this year. Each time, it drives Lucy bonkers. SHE wants a friend to sleep over, but she's really too young (don't EVER tell her that) and she doesn't have any friends ready for that. Well, my best friend and I came up with a brilliant plan (if I do say so myself). Our kids are very comfortable around each other and also around the same age. I had her twins in my class this year, and the kids all get along very well. We decided I would take the boys and she would take the girls. Lucy went to her house with her 2 girls, and her son came to me. We all had a great time and they are already asking when we can plan the next one!! I think they both really enjoyed it just being boys :) We kept sending each other pictures and texting about how well it was going. The girls did makeup, painted nails, decorated cookies and watched Hannah Montana: The Movie. Lucy had so much fun!! Walker was so excited that afternoon, he ...

Kindergarten, here I come...

Well, I officially have a kindergartener! Walker graduated from Pre-K on June 4. He is so excited and so READY for kindergarten! I didn't think I would be this excited, either. I'm so excited for this next chapter in my son's life. Part of that excitement is because I found a school I love!! That was a big struggle this year. Private schools have gotten ridiculously expensive around here, but I wanted to find a place where we weren't just one of who-knows-how-many kindergarteners. We got in a small school with a great casual, family atmosphere and an emphasis on fine arts. I am just thrilled and Walker is excited to "learn about music and drawing better"! Pre-K graduation is a BIG deal at our preschool. Mainly because the other pre-k teacher is uber crafty and has a million great ideas on how to make it grand! I am the other pre-k teacher, so it was interesting to be a teacher, planning and practicing, but also a mom with a son in Pre-K! It was quite a day!! A...

Rangers!!

We loved going to Ranger games last season, and the whole family was excited when baseball season came around again. This year, the kids joined Jr. Rangers, which gave them an opportunity to do some extra special activities, and we have a lot more chances to go to games- a win-win!! We made sure to pick a few "special giveaway" games and a few Sunday games, so the kids could run the bases. Such a special treat! I got the best pictures I could with my phone (new lens coming soon for my Nikon, though!!!). Peepaw and GG came with us, and as luck would have it, this was the 6th longest 9-inning game in Rangers history!! We had to get there early to get the kids the Ian Kinsler jersey, and stay until the game was over to run the bases- so, we were there a l o n g t i m e...... but all worth it! We did sit in the shade, thank God for small favors :) and I got a margarita, so it wasn't a total loss... Lucy in Peepaw's hat Rally cap- c'mon Rangers! Either make it excit...
