I want to renember this...

I am so envious of people that started their blogs when their kids were babies. They have pictures and little stories written down, and will always have those memories. I started this blog when Walker was 3 and Lucy was 2, and I am so glad I did because I have so many special moments that will be (eventually) in our blog books. I do not have a lot of pics or a good memory of when my kids were babies. Lucy was born when Walker was 14 months old, and that first year is pretty much a blur! There are hardly any pictures of Lucy's first 3-4 months, then when things settled down a little bit, I have more. I wish I would have had a blog then- I know I wouldn't have been able to keep up with it regularly, but it still would be nice to have anything from that crazy time in our lives!! By the way, I completely condone having your kids close together. It was crazy hard when Lucy was born, but now- it's SO easy!! They keep each other occupied and are best of friends. I seriously tell a...

Up in God

Image
Oh, man!! I always love reading the funny stories that moms share on their blogs, and I actually wrote this down so I wouldn't forget it. Up in God in what the kids say when they talk about heaven. I guess it's a combo of "up in heaven" and "with God", but that is what they say. When someone dies, they go "up in God". Before Walker was born and in my tummy, he says he was "up in God". Today, we were at the grocery store and they always ask for a sticker. Walker put his sticker on his chin, and said he was an old man. While I was buckling Lucy in, she said, "The old man is dead." Me- "Oh, no!" Walker- "I'm in heaven" Me- "Well, that's good, at least." Walker- "Yeah, so I can play dominoes and eat Sno-Balls!!" Enjoying their treat!! They had gotten Sno-Balls at the grocery store today

Too funny not to share

First off, thanks to all the comments and suggestions on the blog situation. I really did want to hear your thoughts and I appreciate it. I even found out about some new people reading my blog that I did not know about!! That is always fun! So, thank you and for now this blog will remain public. Ok, so this week in Senora Ballard world, I heard some funny stories and just had to share. In one of my classes, we got to talking and never quite got to the Spanish lesson. I figure, hey, that is ok every once and a while. They really wanted to talk and tell me some things, and I think it is important to listen. A boy: Do you know what? After school, I have a dentist appointment, and if I do good I can go to McDonalds! A girl cutting him off: McDonalds clogs your heart. (she is oh-so-serious!) Same girl: Do you know something exciting is going to happen after my dog dies? My mom is going to take me to a pet store and I will get a kitty! Me: Oh, is your dog sick? girl: No, but he will die eve...

An Evening with Walker and Lucy

Image
Jason was working late tonight, so it was just us 3 tonight. I don't usually pay attention (read: remember) what crazy things my kids say, mostly because between the two of them, there is so much crazy stuff being said, I would just have to be sitting with a paper and a pen to catch it all, and because in my old age, I am having trouble remembering everything correctly!! Well, tonight, they just seemed to be on , and some of my favorite posts of my blog friends are those conversations that you have with your children or things you overhear. It's classic! Here are some things that my wonderful children were doing/saying tonight: I am engrossed in my earlier blog, Jim Jammer Day, while the children are enjoying their snack. I look over at them, and exclaim: What are you doing? Lucy- "I'm coloring Daisy! Look, she's pink!" Indeed, Lucy. Pink, she was- from Lucy's YOGURT! Walker and Lucy ran over to me saying: "We did it!" "We did it!" I...

A funny for you...

Got this email today. Instead of forwarding to everyone (your welcome), here you go! YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2008 when... 1. You accidentally enter your PIN on the microwave. 2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years. 3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of three. 4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you. 5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses. 6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries. 7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen 8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't even have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it. 10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting ...
