Ballard Bunch

The Rangers were SO fun to watch this year! We were so excited to have tickets to the last home game of the season. The Rangers always make that a "fan appreciation" game and they give away prizes throughout the entire game. This year they added a Claw and Antler parade. The Claw and Antler movement has really spread this year! It started with somebody in the minor leagues and a Ranger brought it back to the team when they came back up. When you make a hit, you do the "claw" once you get on base. It's like a long distance high five. The guys in the dugout are doing it and the runner does it back to them. The antlers are when you are being "quick like a deer" and you make a play because you ran fast. After you get to the base, you do the antlers. The Rangers said they would have a parade and you could wear your antlers and claws and walk around the field before the game. Last year, we went to several Ranger games and really enjoyed that family activity. By the time the end of last season rolled around, the kids were starting to understand some of the baseball rules and concepts. I could not WAIT for this season to start, and that is officially the first time IN MY LIFE I have ever been looking forward to the start of baseball season. :) We have had some fun/crazy times this year at the Ranger games, and I really want to remember these stories!! First game of the year: We went with Peepaw and GG, and it was basically the prefect game experience. The weather was nice, the game was quick and efficient, and Lemon Chills were involved. Awesome! For my birthday, we went on a tour of the Ballpark. It was great- we all really enjoyed seeing everything. The kids really enjoyed seeing the dugout and the inside batting practice facility. Well, after the perfect game experience last time with Peepaw and GG, we should have known something would go wrong this time....

Yesterday was the last Ranger home game- I'm glad we were there, I just wished the Rangers would have showed up in the 8th and 9th!! UGH :( We have been so lucky to go to several games this season and we are already planning our next years' trips. The Cubs are coming in on my birthday weekend!!!! We had fun, though. The Rangers have been a blast to watch pretty much all year long, and as long as they don't get rid of all that great young talent they have, we will be back next year to root them on some more!!! Walking in to the ballpark. I don't know why, but I think pictures of them holding hands and walking is so cute!! Lucy and Jojo- she became a Ranger fan this year, too!! Bye, Ballpark! We went to the Ranger game last night!! I had asked for tickets for my birthday, and we got this cool Coco Cola Family Pack. For $20 a ticket, we got a ticket, hot dog, drink, parking pass and the kids got unlimited play in the Sports Play area. What a deal!!! The kids have been so looking forward to going. I have quickly become the biggest Ranger bandwangoner ever. I have never even been a huge fan of baseball, but this year we have watched almost every game. The guys are so fun to watch!!! I guess I am just such a sports nut, since I don't watch as many TV shows as I used to. I've always enjoyed football so much, and now I think I just want something to watch all year when it's not football time. Well, luckily the Rangers can put on quite a show these days!
