More Christmas fun and a haircut!

I kept hearing about these great lights downtown and the Chesapeake building. I finally figured out where they were and told Jason about it. We went out one night to see Narnia and ended up finding the lights. These are so cool! These trees are completely covered- it's all the way around the property of the building, and we walked the whole thing. I hope they do this again next year, it was really amazing. Sydney took this picture and I just love it! I'm actually in a picture- WITH my kids :) We had Wright family Christmas the weekend before Christmas. It had been a while! My cousin's family moved before Christmas last year, so we didn't all get together for Christmas last year. The kids had so much fun together! They are within 2 years from the oldest to the youngest, so they were running around and laughing and playing- it was a blast! Lucy loved holding Cookie Cate and Lucy K'nex! Walker loves these blocks :) Lucy decided she wanted her hair cut, so we got it don...

It's beginning to feel alot like Christmas...

There are always a few things we do in early December to really get Christmas going. I love that we have traditions early int he month to get the spirit flowing. We go over to my mom's to decorate her tree and watch Christmas movies, we go to my Granny's Christmas party at her nursing home, we eat Christmas lunch at the Fort Worth Club and we decorate our own house and tree. The kids are getting good at decorating the tree and are a huge help! We are also adding traditions, which is always fun. The kids have gone shopping with my dad and stepmom for the past 2 years for a special gift from them to Jason and I. The kids love picking out their own gifts and my dad said they were really with it this year and knew exactly what we would like. They also decorate our presents, which is my favorite part! Fort Worth Club Decorating our tree and filling in our advent calendar Talking with Santa at Granny's party Gran's house: The ornaments are laid out on the table Love this pic...

MAY is cra-ZAY!

Image
May has always been a busy month for my family with lots of birthdays. Then, you add Mother's Day and if someone happens to be graduating that year, well then it just gets crazy!! This year, my littlest sister is graduating from high school and I am turning 30, so we have 2 milestones besides the regular business. I love this month because we get to see so much family, but also for a very selfish reason- we go out to eat SO much to celebrate everybody that I don't have to cook very much at all in May!!!! Here's who we celebrate, in order (of course!): Grandfather Mother's Day :) GG Grandmother Granny ME! Poppa (Lucy picked this pic- she loves it!) Sydney Jo is GRADUATING high school!! I can't believe it. She is so excited to be a Horned Frog in the fall.

Goodbye, 2009!! (Part 3)

The fall has turned into quite a busy time of year for our little family. This fall was no different! Birthdays, bonfires and getting ready for the holidays- I LOVE FALL!!!!! Long sleeve T's, orange, brown, chili, chicken pot pie- just a few of my favorite things. OCTOBER Lucy girl turned 4!! Her birthday meal choices were pancakes, pizza and pancakes. The girl loves her some breakfast for dinner. She really loved the card her brother made for her (still taped up in her room) and her skinny jeans and fringe boots from Jojo. Halloween '09 Woody and Rosetta I love this pic!!! My sisters took the kids to the park and they were talking about exploring. My kids posed and luckily, my sisters got a great picture. This picture is awful quality- but I love it dearly. Jason went to California for a week in October. He never travels for his job, so it was really weird. I actually joined him out there for the weekend and then flew back. He was gone 8 days, and the kids were going crazy mis...

Goodbye 2009! (Part 2)

Part 2: Summer!! Our theme for the summer was swimming, movies, and baseball. We went to a weekly movie in Southlake and swam every chance we got. Of course, summer means our annual Kerbel visit to College Station. We also had our first "just us" family vacation to Great Wolf Lodge JUNE Swimming lessons. My kids have never had a fear of the water, but I still didn't know what to expect for swimming lessons. I was blown away!! They both took to it right away and had a blast- it was really cool to see your kids get such confidence and master something like that. This is Lucy's first time jumping off the diving board without any floaties. This was part of their "test" at the end of the lesson. They swam across the deep end of the pool by themselves. She said Walker and Lucy had completed Level 2 after the two week course. They LOVED the diving board- and I love my camera getting cool shots like that :) JULY 4th of July!! Poppa has a serious affection for firewo...
