Lucy's Birthday

Lucy girl is 5!
Lucy had a great birthday weekend! My Dad and stepmom like to do a birthday activity with the kids, instead of just going out to dinner. These activities have been a big hit this year! Since Lucy's birthday is around Halloween, we went to a great park in Arlington for a fall festival. They got to do crafts, play games, get their face painted and get big balloon animals. It was really fun! Afterwards, we went to dinner and Lucy got to open her presents. I love watching her open presents- her reactions and comments are awesome!!!Pink Sock Monkey!
Way to go, GG (this involved some searching...)
We took Lucy to Southlake to get her nails done at a salon for girls. It's called Sweet n Sassy, which is actually a great description of our birthday girl. We call her sassy sometimes, and she doesn't like it, but sometimes it's true!!! We went out to lunch, and then she got to get her very own manicure. She loved it! They sprayed glitter in her hair and gave her a heart glitter tattoo on her cheek. She also got to pick 2 jewels for her thumbnails- she thought she was hot stuff!

At lunch with Daddy, wearing her birthday girl shirt so everyone would know!!Her fancy nails- she chose gold polish.
Trying to show her heart cheek and her nailsWe had a birthday dinner at Nana and Papa's house. I had no idea, but Lucy had asked Nana to make the castle cake. This cake is big and a BIG deal to assemble. Nana did it for Lucy's 2nd birthday party, but I never would have let her make that for just a family birthday dinner!! Of course, Nana obliged and it was beautiful!! The most special part of the evening was that Walker and Lucy's new cousins came! Drayk and Aizlyn made their first outing to Lucy's birthday dinner. The kids were so excited they were there. Walker's whole prayer before dinner was about the twins and how excite he was they were out of Aunt D's tummy and had some to Nana's that night. It was seriously the sweetest thing you have ever heard.

For her birthday lunch with my mom's side of the family, she chose 'Ol South. This girl LOVES her some breakfast food! She chooses breakfast for dinner every chance she gets :)

Lucy is so much fun!
-She loves to dance, sing and play. She is really into makeup and doing her nails, learning cheerleader moves and her ballet class. She loves music and is really quick at learning the words of songs. She loves to pose, and has so many facial expressions- she is so dramatic!
-She loves using big words and will throw them in anywhere! Especially when she is playing with her "friends" (stuffed animals). She will say things like, "The prosperity of it is amazing." "It is just a communication of the whole thing."
-She loves Glee (I don't let her watch the show, but she watches some of the performances) and Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga.
-She really loves cereal and scrambled eggs, pancakes and coffee.
-She mastered her cartwheel this fall. Once I showed her the mechanics, she practiced it over and over again at Walker's football practices until she has it down! I am so proud of her, she is really focused and diligent when she wants to learn something.
-She still loves to change outfits and wear fun stuff. Her favorite thing right now is tall socks. My sister made her some leg warmers out of women's knee socks and she wears them all the time, with all different kinds of outfits. At school, eating cookies on her birthday. With her bestie, Jade :)
