Passover Break
Working at a Jewish preschool, we had Passover Break this year instead of Spring Break. It was later than everyone's regular Spring Break, but it was longer, too!!! Jason took several of the days off, as well, so we had some fun family time. We planned something for each day that he was off, and one day we had a day trip to Oklahoma. It was a great time and we all enjoyed it and each other!
We rode the Forest Park train (for the first time!!) and played at the park. We got off at the stop at the park and played a while (of course, the kids found "best friends" to play with while we were at the park for all of 20 minutes) and then hopped back on the train when it stopped back by the park to finish our ride and get back to our car. I can't believe we hadn't done that before, but it was pretty neat (and cheap!). We were lucky to have good weather all week, too.
First stop: Botanical Gardens to walk around and explore there

Oklahoma!
We drove to Oklahoma one day for a day trip. It turned out great!! We had planned to go to Arbuckle Wilderness (a drive-thru zoo where you can feed the animals) and then hike and picnic at Turner Falls. We also had to hit Original Fried Pies on Exit 51 or I would have some seriously unhappy parents!! Right after we drove into Oklahoma, we stopped at the big rest stop. I'm so glad we did!! The people were so friendly and gave us a ton of maps and more ideas of things to do. There are future days trips to Oklahoma in our sights! We added the Toy and Action Figure museum to our plans, and also found a place called Ballard Drive-In. We had to eat there!!! The kids were excellent on the drive and such troopers- they never lost interest and did so great!
To order, you used that red phone!!
Things haven't changed much at the Ballard Drive-In since it opened in '51.
We even talked to Mr. Ballard himself!
Toy and Action Figure museum: This was a wall of toys. The ones stapled to the wall are still in their case, and the ones on the floor are out of their box and posed for action. They had this whole story about how it was a room of a 40-something living at home- hilarious!!

Sweet, but impatient, llamas!
Here come the camels!
Here are the camels...in our backseat!!!!!!!!!
Lucy lost it a bit after that- her window stayed up after that little incident.
The giraffes were sweet and not as impatient or forward. They were behind a cage, but with their long necks, he still got to my window. He would actually wait for me to get the food out of my cup into my hand before he would eat it.

Museum Day
We have a new and improved museum and we quickly got a family pass and have already been a handful of times. There is so much to do there, and we can spend hours there without even realizing it. In fact, we bought Planetarium tickets when we went together, but got so busy playing we forgot about our show!! Luckily, they reimbursed us for our tickets.
Their favorite room- the arts and crafts room!!
Walker's other favorite: the pipes that redirect the water depending on how you place them. I can just see the little wheels in his head turning!
