Some things I'm excited about...

A New Sonic
- Not that Sonic is my favorite and my best or anything. I mean, they are fine and good, and have lots of different choices for whatever mood you're in. BUT, we live kind of "out" and there is not alot of stuff that is real close. Well, they are building a Sonic right on 1187, about 4 minutes from our house! So, I was glad we were getting something close, and then I drove by one day, and saw that there will be a HUGE playground at the Sonic. YES!!! I have never seen a playground at a Sonic before, but I am seeing alot of trips there this spring and summer for the Ballards- for a Dr. Pepper blended float, or maybe an Ocean Water?!?!

Holiday tomorrow
-Tomorrow is President's Day, and I am off school. The kids, however, still have ARK School. I have to admit, my first reaction was- YES!!! So, tomorrow I will get the whole 9-2 to do WHATEVER I WANT!!! Actually, Jojo is going to be with me and we are having a fun sister day [feeling left out, C? :( ] together, since she is off school, too. Should be fun...

The Office and my other shows coming back soon!
-The strike is over!! It hasn't actually been as bad as I thought it would be. Wow, I guess you can really have life outside of weekly TV shows. Hmmm...

NO diapers for the Ballards!!
-Just a lot of Princess undies

Disney World
-Coming soon. June '08
I won't beat you down with Disney stuff yet, because come May and June, it will be an all Disney, all the time kind of blog.

Thanks for you comment. I like to see who makes their way to my blog. I am new to this blogging thing. I know who you are. I know your family at least. We used to very involved in the youth at Altamesa and always enjoyed your sisters. We got to go to Mexico with Caitlin.

Fun Family Weekend

Jason was off Saturday, and I was really looking forward to a family weekend. He usually works Saturdays, but when he is off and we get 2 days in a row all together, we are so happy!! Friday night he called on his way home from work, and told the kids to get dressed in their cowboy boots, we were going somewhere. The kids got so excited, and ran to their rooms. Lucy got some new cowgirl boots for Christmas (2 pairs, actually), and has been wearing them alot!! They got all dressed up in their cowboy stuff and we waited for Daddy to get home. He took us to Trail Dust Steakhouse in Arlington, and he invited my sisters, too. It was so fun!! I hadn't been there since my 16th birthday party, and the kids had a blast; sliding down the slide, dancing on the dance floor and eating yummy steak. It was such a fun night!!! Happy Spring Break to Walker and Lucy!!

This week Walker and Lucy are off from ARK School. They are actually NOT excited, they love school!! Caitlin is home this week, too, though so that is fun. We had a great weekend to end my break and kick off the kids. Saturday , we drove to a drive-in theater in Granbury. Colleen (my friend and Walker's teacher) told us about this drive-in and it was showing Horton Hears a Who!, so we decided to check it out. I am so glad there is still one around. Drive-ins are just one of those things I have great memories of and want to do with my kids. At the drive-in, with a good spot. Being comfy in our jim jammers!! Enjoying our picnic dinner. Fruit skewers, pb&j roll-ups, and cheetos!! Sunday , we had a great family lunch at mom's, then it was off to the TCU Easter Egg Hunt. The kids looked so cute, and had fun hunting eggs. What's so great about living out in the country??

Well, you find things like this in your backyard: There are lots of fun things about living "out" here and having more than an acre of land to explore. We have roadrunners, roosters, chickens, lizards (apparently!), bonfires, and lots of fun. The kids were so intrigued.
