Saturday Sound Off

Well, I missed Friday Favorites, so today it's Saturday Sound Off.

I'm sounding off about the Holiday Break:
Christmas is over. It was GREAT. Great to see everyone, great food, really great presents. Ours started on the 23rd and continued through the 25th. We are now trying to catch up on sleep and get our house in some semblence of order!!! Major organizing going on here, which I love.

One thing I really love about the holidays is how everyone is home. Jason has been off since the 21st, and doesn't have to go back to work until after the 1st. My sister Caitlin is home from OU, and will be home for a couple more weeks. This is one of my favorite things of the holiday season, having everyone home or at least not working as much.

Some photos from Christmas '07

On Christmas Eve, we spend the day with my Dad and Grace. We made gingerbread and sugar cookies for Santa this year. I had made the dough the previous day, and we rolled them, cut them out and decorated them.
It was a new tradition this year, and probably my favorite thing we did!
Some of our masterpieces!!
Rachel, Kit, Carson and Kindle came over on the 26th. The kids and I visited them in College Station this summer, and we all had a great time. Walker will ask me periodically if we can "go see Carson", so I was appreciative they made the time to come and visit us. We love you guys!

Some of our favorite gifts this year:

Walker's Spiderman golf clubs
Lucy's Cinderella dress-up outfit

Final Sound Off for 2007:
WOW!! Christmas is a truly great time of year. We had a wonderful month full of family, food and giving. My kids are starting to understand all holidays and I hope that they are beginning to understand what CHRISTmas is all about. We talked alot this year about Baby Jesus, Christmas, Santa, God, everything. It's a lot to take in, and a big responsibility as a parent to make sure your kids understand the true meaning of the holidays in the way you want them to.

Favorite moments of Christmas '07:
- Walker opening his Diego Mobile Rescue Unit- His face lit up and he let out a serious YELL!
- Lucy was all dressed up for our "special Christmas lunch" at Fort Worth Club, and I called her an angel. Walker corrected me and said, "Lucy, you are a Christmas angel."
- Jason, his brother and Dad all working together to put together Lucy's Princess Kitchen. It was so funny to see 3 big guys putting that pink toy together!!
