OUR DVR!!!


Why do I love our DVR so much, you ask?

1. Everyone's lives are crazy for one reason or another. Mine is crazy because I have 2 kids, a husband, a dog, a job, you get the picture. I am a huge Friends fan, and I remember in college always planning my Thursdays, so that I would be in someone's dorm room or at home or SOMEWHERE that I knew I could watch it. Other than that, if I happened to catch an episode of CSI or Real World, I was happy. With DVR, you don't have to settle! That is the greatness of it. If you want to watch something on at 3am, no problem. Record it and watch it at YOUR convenience. YOUR CONVENIENCE!! Genius.

2. BEFORE DVR-I can remember my mom talking about being up with me or my sisters when we were babies and talking about watching bowling or skeet shooting on ESPN at 1 in the morning.
AFTER DVR-When Walker and Lucy were babies, I recorded Friends and E News to watch whenever I was up, at whatever time. GENIUS!!!

3. I don't know if this is good or bad, but I do watch more TV now. On the good side, I have broadened my horizons and watch stuff I would have never given the time before DVR.

I want to give Dish network some love. I know EVERYBODY has Direct TV, but we have had Dish Network since 2003, and have never had a problem, and love the programming.

we were with dish network from 2000 until last year when they screwed us over on changing our programming because we'd been "grandfathered in" when they changed the programming and we were getting what they saw was "too good a deal" and they tried to charge us more money to keep our programming! So we switched :)

Its funny that to you everyone has DirecTV and you have Dish and love it....in my life, everyone I know has Dish and I have DirecTV and would never change. How weird!

I'll let it slide that you don't have How I Met Your Mother on your DVR list....I'm telling you though - it is the best thing to happen since Friends!

I have a major love affair with my DVR as well!! I also watch House, Greys and The Office (at least until they go off...)

Fun Family Weekend

Jason was off Saturday, and I was really looking forward to a family weekend. He usually works Saturdays, but when he is off and we get 2 days in a row all together, we are so happy!! Friday night he called on his way home from work, and told the kids to get dressed in their cowboy boots, we were going somewhere. The kids got so excited, and ran to their rooms. Lucy got some new cowgirl boots for Christmas (2 pairs, actually), and has been wearing them alot!! They got all dressed up in their cowboy stuff and we waited for Daddy to get home. He took us to Trail Dust Steakhouse in Arlington, and he invited my sisters, too. It was so fun!! I hadn't been there since my 16th birthday party, and the kids had a blast; sliding down the slide, dancing on the dance floor and eating yummy steak. It was such a fun night!!! Happy Spring Break to Walker and Lucy!!

This week Walker and Lucy are off from ARK School. They are actually NOT excited, they love school!! Caitlin is home this week, too, though so that is fun. We had a great weekend to end my break and kick off the kids. Saturday , we drove to a drive-in theater in Granbury. Colleen (my friend and Walker's teacher) told us about this drive-in and it was showing Horton Hears a Who!, so we decided to check it out. I am so glad there is still one around. Drive-ins are just one of those things I have great memories of and want to do with my kids. At the drive-in, with a good spot. Being comfy in our jim jammers!! Enjoying our picnic dinner. Fruit skewers, pb&j roll-ups, and cheetos!! Sunday , we had a great family lunch at mom's, then it was off to the TCU Easter Egg Hunt. The kids looked so cute, and had fun hunting eggs. What's so great about living out in the country??

Well, you find things like this in your backyard: There are lots of fun things about living "out" here and having more than an acre of land to explore. We have roadrunners, roosters, chickens, lizards (apparently!), bonfires, and lots of fun. The kids were so intrigued.
